What a role pays, up front — not after you apply
Every open position posted below shows its pay range in the listing itself. We don't ask you to interview before you learn what a role pays, and we don't negotiate pay down after an offer is extended based on what you were making before.
Standby & on-call roster work runs $17–$25 per hour, depending on location and account, as noted above. Full and part-time openings list their own range with the position.
Pay for W-2 security officer positions is set per assignment, based on the site, shift, and licensing required — the same range every applicant for that opening sees, not a number that varies by who's asking. If a listed opening doesn't show a range, ask recruiting directly; we'd rather answer the question than have you guess.
Training doesn't stop at your first certification
Every officer starts with Bluewater Security Academy's Foundations course. From there, the same academy that licensed you keeps training you toward assignment-specific skills and, for officers who want it, field leadership.

The required entry point for every new officer — professionalism, conduct, and baseline operational readiness before your first assignment.
2. Operational Mastery
Assignment-specific training as you take on specialized posts — fire watch, event coverage, retail, healthcare, warehouse, and industrial sites.
3. Supervisor & Leadership
For officers who want to move into shift oversight and team accountability — the path Hammerhead uses to promote from within rather than hire supervisors from outside.

Standby & On-Call Security Officer Roster
Looking for extra income, side work, or security assignments without committing to a steady weekly schedule? Join Hammerhead Security's standby roster for emergency call-offs, new and temporary accounts, special coverage, fire watch, access control, events and other short-notice needs.
Pay varies by location and account: $17–$25 per hour. Standby placement does not guarantee hours. When an assignment becomes available, qualified roster members can be contacted with the site, schedule and pay details before accepting or declining the opportunity.
Off-duty, retired and former law-enforcement professionals and experienced security officers are encouraged to apply. Law-enforcement experience is not required; qualified applicants are evaluated using the same lawful, job-related standards.
