Every officer is screened, interviewed, and verified before assignment.
A license confirms an officer met the state's minimum requirement. It doesn't tell you who Hammerhead actually decided to hire. This is the standard we screen against and the sequence every candidate completes before a first shift.
Eight steps before anyone reaches a post.
Work authorization is verified for every hire through E-Verify.
What removes a candidate from consideration.
Felony Convictions
Lifetime. No candidate with a felony conviction record is eligible for hire, regardless of how long ago the offense occurred.
Theft-Related Offenses
10-year lookback. A theft-related record — misdemeanor or summary — disqualifies a candidate for ten years from the offense.
Crimes of Violence
Lifetime. No candidate with a crime-of-violence record is eligible for hire, regardless of how long ago the offense occurred.
Training doesn't start on post — it starts before it.
Every new hire who clears screening completes Bluewater Security Academy's New Hire Training Program before assignment: de-escalation, legal updates relevant to the role, foundational post-order and reporting skills, and site-specific training for the actual property. Field performance is then actively coached through a 90-day probationary period, not simply assumed.

Credential status, training completion, and probationary review are tracked the same way shift activity is — so "was this officer screened and trained" is never a guess when a client or auditor asks.
